Henderson County residents and those who work, own property, or attend school in the county can acquire a library card at no charge by presenting proper identification, a picture ID with a current address. A parent or Guardian must be present for a child under 14 to be issued a card. Replacement fee for a lost card is $2. A non-resident may purchase a card for $20 per year. Buncombe County Resident? Check Out Policies
You must bring in your library card in order to check out items. If you do not have your library card we will accept a valid picture ID, such as your driver’s license. Your identification is necessary to prevent any unauthorized use of your account. This is especially important since we use a debt collect service to recover items and fees (more information). Unauthorized use and abuse of your account could potentially affect your credit report. If picking up items for a family member you must bring in their card.

Items checked out can be returned to any of the branches in the Henderson County Library system.
Reserves can be placed on all items (except magazines).
